Newly found Venus on view in Jerusalem

From Israel comes an exciting new find of a statue of Venus with some of its original colours preserved, and possibly made in the Aphrodisias workshop. It’s currently on view at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.

Charlotte Roueché has published an updated online edition of her 1989 book “Aphrodisias in Late Antiquity“, concerning the inscriptions found in the Carian city.
