“Art and Social Identity in Late Antique Sagalassos, 4th to 7th Century AD”

Prof. Waelkens’ excavations at Sagalassos can also be explored at the wonderful Interactive Dig site created by Archaeology Magazine. This year’s excavations of the city’s baths unearthed (among other things) a new colossal portrait of the emperor Hadrian.
